Training and Support

Several technical assistance services are available through WestEd to assist school districts in administering the California School Parent Survey (CSPS) and in understanding their data.

Cal-SCHLS Regional Centers

In California, three regional survey centers provide technical assistance based on localized knowledge. Calls placed to the main office of the Cal-SCHLS Regional Center at (888) 841.7563 are automatically re-directed to the Regional Center serving that particular district. Data Analysis

WestEd's staff of expert data analysts can help you conduct more extensive analyses of your CSPS data. For example, you can learn how results differ among demographic groups or other subgroups in your district by taking advantage of the CTAG report option, or look more closely at how your data can help you determine where to target your prevention and intervention efforts, and see if your current programs are working. Both district and school-level reports are available.

Administration Workshop

During our Administration Workshop, one of our survey coordinators will walk you through everything you need to know to administer the California Healthy Kids (CHKS), the California School Climate (CSCS), and the California School Parent (CSPS) Surveys in your school or district. This remote training will use screen-sharing technology which will enable participants to view and review the website together, as well as simultaneously view the Power Point slides. All participants communicate via a toll-free telephone conference line.

Guidebooks

The following guidebooks provide integrated administration instructions for the student (CHKS), staff (CSCS), and parent (CSPS) surveys. The guidebooks describe the tasks common to all three surveys as well as more detailed instructions for the student survey (including sampling, parent consent, etc.).
